A Whole-System Organizational Engagement by The PD Collective ~

WHAT THIS IS

For organizations ready to go beyond the training — and do the deeper work.

A one-year, whole-system organizational engagement rooted in Professional Dangerousness — designed to strengthen leadership, culture, and practice from the inside out.

This is not a quick fix. It is a sustained, intentional partnership — one that will ask something real of your organization.

At the heart of this work is something simple: relationships.

Strong Roots begins there.

With people.
With relationships.
With the roots that hold everything else in place.

Because relationships are the roots of our collective work. When we tend to them, we strengthen the foundation from which healthier culture, stronger practice, and meaningful change can grow.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Professional Dangerousness — the quiet space between intention and impact in human services work — is the lens at the center of this engagement.

It provides a shared language and a common thread woven throughout every component of the work. Because awareness isn’t a destination. It’s a practice of noticing, reflecting, and choosing differently — again and again.

What the Year-Long Engagement Includes

While leadership is the primary engagement throughout the year, the full organizational system remains part of the work. Each component offers a different way of building awareness, strengthening reflective capacity, and supporting meaningful change.

Training & Workshops

Collective learning experiences that create shared language, deepen understanding, and give the organization a common foundation for examining intention, impact, relationships, and practice.

Surveys & Ongoing Data Collection

Monthly individual reflective space for participating leaders to intentionally build their own reflective capacity and strengthen their ability to hold space for the growing teams they support.

Check-in’s & Consultations

Recurring collaborative spaces with leadership to stay connected, assess what is emerging, address areas of friction, and adapt the work as the organization evolves.

Structured opportunities to gather and reflect on the lived experience of the organization, creating a collective picture of what is happening and how the work is changing over time.

WHO THIS IS FOR

HOW TO APPLY

Applications are open year-round.

We review applications periodically throughout the year. Final selections for each engagement are made in April/May, with selected organizations contacted in early June.

We select one to two organizations per year. Submitting an application does not guarantee selection — but it starts a conversation, and we read every one.

Strong Roots represents a significant organizational investment, with engagements beginning at $13,000. Final pricing is determined based on organizational size, scope, and engagement needs.

Strong Roots is for organizations that are ready to look honestly at themselves.

It is for organizations that believe culture is something to be tended, not simply stated. That the people doing some of the hardest work deserve sustained, genuine support. That meaningful change is relational, takes time, and asks something of the people within the system.

We are not here to fix your organization. We genuinely don't believe it is broken.

Strong Roots is a year-long partnership. We bring the framework, facilitation, reflection, and support — but the organization has to bring its people, its time, its honesty, and its willingness to engage.

Leadership will be the primary engagers and should expect consistent participation, recurring meetings, individual reflection, consultation, and honest examination of their own role in the culture they lead. All staff will participate in shared learning and organizational feedback throughout the engagement.

The work may be uncomfortable at times. We are not looking for perfection — we are looking for readiness: a willingness to be honest, curious, reflective, and engaged in the process.

Strong Roots is also a significant investment of both organizational resources and capacity. We encourage organizations to consider not only their readiness for the work, but their ability to make the time, financial investment, and sustained commitment it requires.
