The PD Collective started with a conversation between two practitioners who kept noticing the same thing — something that lived in the space between good intentions and real impact. Something most people had felt but nobody was naming.
So we named it.
Professional Dangerousness (PD) is:
The actions of professionals—often with good intent— that can inadvertently initiate, amplify, or sustain risk, inequity, or negative outcomes for the people and communities they serve.
Meet the Collective
The PD Collective is a collaborative venture between Brëanna McMullen and Jessica Hoeper, bringing warmth, humor, and radical honesty to one of the most important — and rarely named — topics in human services work.
Together they build spaces that feel less like another thing to get through and more like the conversation you didn't even know you needed — leaving people seeing their work in a whole new way.
Their co-facilitated style blends shared storytelling, practice-based examples, research-informed insight, and reflective invitations that foster connection, curiosity, and professional resilience.
Jessica Hoeper, MSW, LISW, IMH-E® (Endorsed Reflective Supervisor, Infant Family Specialist)
Jessica is a licensed independent social worker, Reflective Coach, Author, Mother, and Founder of Ray of Hope, LLC. With almost 20yrs of human service experience; in the roles of reflective coaching consultant/supervisor, child and family services supervisor, child protection social worker, juvenile justice social worker, and mental health practitioner.
Brëanna McMullen, IMH-E® (Endorsed Reflective Supervisor, Infant Family Specialist)
With over a decade of experience in social work, mental health, and nonprofit systems, Brëanna supports professionals doing complex, human work. As a mother and facilitator, she weaves research-backed insight with honest, reflective dialogue, centering self+awareness, relational care, and sustainable practice. Her work invites people and systems to show up more wholly, in service of preserving and honoring the families they walk alongside.
